Power versus Force

“Those who don’t have power use force.”

Power is expressing yourself and people responding to it. Force is manipulating people to get them to do what you want.

Power is when e.g. Martin Luther King expresses himself saying “I have a dream” and a whole society goes into resonance with it. Force is when anyone in a leadership role (from parent to president) threatens you, e.g. “If you don’t do this, you will suffer consequences!” or the threat is implicit.

Power causes attraction, force causes fear. Fear has been used since the beginning of time to manipulate people to get them to do what you want. It is the most effective strategy of using force.

Power doesn’t need an amplifier. Mahatma Gandhi’s peaceful resistance, Ramana Maharishi’s silent teaching, Eckhart Tolle’s humble appearance, 2Cello’s passion, and the millions of unknown heroines and heroes in their unique way of self-expression without manipulative agendas.

Express, don’t impress. If you untether yourself and express yourself in your most authentic way, you are radiating effortless joy and lightful presence. People will respond to you. And it’s these people you want to respond to you, not those who fall for your cunning strategies.

The bird on the tree doesn’t mind whether you like its song, hate its noise or ignore it – the bird just expresses itself with joy, presence and unlimited energy.

Force always creates resistance. Then you have to manage the resistance by using more force. And sooner than later you end up in violence/aggression either on a small scale or big scale. Isn’t it so?

Trusting your power and allowing it to fully flow means you drop all attachment to need; no need of results, no need of applause, no need of accolades. I say “need”. Let life choose how it responds to you expression of power; it always will be fortunate and blessed.

Power creates pure success. Force creates corrupt success. The degree of power being powerful entirely depends on how much energy you allow to flow through you. Consider that everyone without exception is connected to life force 100%. Consider there is no bottleneck from the universe’s side. We are all exactly 100% connected to the source of unlimited energy.

Power becomes powerful when you allow this energy to flow. You open up to the source, you get yourself out of the way, you let the life force flow into you and out of you unhindered. The better you get at that, the more impactful your power becomes.

This is the secret of the Samurais, the Yogis, the miracle makers and the successful who don’t use force.

It feels absolutely effortless; it Lao-Tzu’s “non-doing of what needs to be done”. A greater power, the life force is “doing” it.

To get there, start with these 3 practices:

  1. Learn about your personal bottlenecks: fears, doubts, limiting beliefs, judgemental perspectives, energy-draining habits, shadows in your sub- and unconscious.
  2. Take action to transcend these bottlenecks. It may take a while, but every victory will open you to greater flow of life energy.
  3. Learn to powerfully breathe, not forcefully. Powerful breathing means relaxing all habitual restrictions to the breath coming in and going out. Consider that you do not fully breathe; almost no one does. Your human life starts with an inhale and ends with an exhale. In between is perpetual flow. The habit of shallow breathing is keeping you shallow.

Don’t just take a deep breath once in a while, learn to breathe life force in and out. This will be the greatest game changer you ever met.
